Getting close to working a deal on a Silver Signature AWD. Looking at a Subaru Forester too, but leaning more towards the Mazda. We'll see where all the numbers land tomorrow.

Well, the MAZDA guys aren't willing to work any real deals and the Signature I wanted was more than I was willing to spend. I am great friends with the Subaru dealer in town and they were willing to work with me and sell, as a courtesy, a loaded Forester Limited for below invoice and I got what I wanted on my trade. Couldn't have gone wrong either way as the Subaru Forester is rated #1 and the CX-5 #2 in Consumer Reports and both will have great resale when I go to sell it in a year to get back into a 2023 truck. Thanks to all the answered my post and have a great weekend!

Thanks for letting us know the outcome. My big issue with Subaru is the transmission. I personally wouldn't buy a car with a CVT.

I understand. Subaru actually has the best CVT on the market and they changed the programming, from that of the past about 3 years ago, to mimic a shifting transmission so it doesn't actually feel like a CVT. I don't mind it at all and only plan to keep it for a year or so while the auto market normalizes. Based on what I paid for my Forester, I should break even when selling it a year to a year and a half from now with low mileage.

Congrats on the new Subaru Forester! Agreed, you cannot go wrong with either choices.

Your 10.25" screen is touch? I was not aware they had touch at all in 21 models.

Canada got the older and smaller touch screens this year for the initial release. The new 10.25" screens were not available till the mid year 2021.5 update in Canada. It also comes with a better rear view camera. The US has had these in all the 2021 models right from the start. They also made 19" wheels standard on the GS AWD trim. That's what made me get a 2021.5 update model even though it probably cost ~$1500cad more due to less incentives and higher financing rates.
