2018 CX5 has Dark screen and not working with bluetooth on phone. It does say connected on phone bluetooth setting. Have tried the reset of holding down the buttons for 10 sec as suggested in postings. Can’t find answer in manual.
Thank you for the reply, I’m not sure as I’m not mechanical, but there is radio volume, wouldn’t that be not working if fuse was out? I just wasted another 1-2 hrs yesterday reading the manual, very frustrating. I just traded in another problem car for this. Just can’t trust reviews any more.
Keep in mind that the fuse that leads power to your radio/audio system may not be the same one as the fuse that leads power to your screen.
As the CX5 owners's manual says: Your vehicle's electrical system is protected by fuses.
If any lights, accessories, or controls do not work, inspect the appropriate circuit protector. If a fuse has blown, the inside element will be melted.
If the same fuse blows again, avoid using that system and consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer as soon as possible.
There is only one fuse to a radio and the screen is, most likely, tied to that fuse.
Thank you for the advice. The screen is on, the brightness can’t be accessed so I can see it. Is this fuse related or is there a control or dial that can adjust this?
From the wiring diagram 4-5 fuses; Room (CMU, Display & AUX/USB/SD), Audio (main fuse for tuner and amps) Audio 1 for tuner & amp, Audio 2 for commander switch and Bose for Bose amp if equipped.
This may not be the proper wiring diagram as there are around a dozen different ones depending on the options so a random one. Looking at this I'd see if a USB device powers up in the front slots - yes = ROOM fuse is OK, we have sound so AUDIO, AUDIO1 and BOSE (if equipped) should be OK, if the commander ***** control the volume AUDIO2 is OK
If you are lucky it could be a bad connection between the CMU & the display or elsewhere but likely to be the CMU or display - $$ I know I replaced hundreds of screens on Cadillacs but only a handful of HMIs (equivalent to CMU) but I don't know which gives more problems on Mazdas.
I retired after 36 years specializing in automotive electrical/computer/networks so TY; this was a fun brain exercise!
