Does anyone have directions to program a 2000 mazda mpv? I have contacted the dealership and they want $120.00 which I find rediculas for such a small task.

I do not think that your problem lies in your remotes. More than likely you have a factory alarm. Locking the car with the key or the remote should enable it. What is happening is one of your alarm triggers is failing. Possible due to heat. Heat can cause metal to expand. SO in the hot summer one of you alarm sensors is expanding and your factory (or aftermarket) alarm is trigger to sound the horn.

You might want to take it to a dealer and ask them IF you have a factory alarm. If you do they can scan the GEM (Ford calls them that) for which trigger has been setting it off.

I know in the Taurus world it is normally is either the trunk or hood anti-theft switches.

Good luck
