Thought I'd follow up on this. My dealer replaced the out-of-spec tires and did a careful balance of all four. Problem solved. It was definitely a tire issue but the 3 might be more sensitive to this kinda thing than earlier cars.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Mazda here are refusing to road test my car because the limit here is 100km/h so each time I’ve taken it back they just give me a wheel balance and send me on my way.
I bought my 2017 CX-5 brand new and like a fool I didn't test drive the car I was going to buy, simply the same model which already had dealer tags on it.

I bought the car got on the expressway and it started shaking at 65 mph and I had the same struggle with the dealer as everyone else. I pretty much lived with this vibration until two years later when I needed new tires. I purchased top of the line tires and the problem went away !!

What a hard lesson !
