Car jerks while in drive
#2
Hi kachala:
I assume that "hold" stands for "OD off". When the "OD" light blinks it indicates trouble with the transmission. I assume that the African market cars use the "hold" indicator in the same way.
1. check the transmission fluid level. The car must be warm, parked on a level surface and idling. The level should be in the "OK" range for "hot" fluid.
2. smell the fluid: does it stink burned? It's not a good sign. If it does smell bad replace the fluid and if it has a filter replace it too.
3. Check all the electrical connections. Clean the contacts in the wire harnesses.
4. If none of the above solve your problem look for a replacement transmission.
All the best!
