Default Car jerks while in drive

Mazda 323 sedan automatic, car jerks and display hold on the dash board. This only stop when car is parked or when speed is reduced to less than 20km/h

Hi kachala:
I assume that "hold" stands for "OD off". When the "OD" light blinks it indicates trouble with the transmission. I assume that the African market cars use the "hold" indicator in the same way.
1. check the transmission fluid level. The car must be warm, parked on a level surface and idling. The level should be in the "OK" range for "hot" fluid.
2. smell the fluid: does it stink burned? It's not a good sign. If it does smell bad replace the fluid and if it has a filter replace it too.
3. Check all the electrical connections. Clean the contacts in the wire harnesses.
4. If none of the above solve your problem look for a replacement transmission.

All the best!
