Proud week old owner of a 2022 Mazda 3 Premium 2.5 Naturally aspirated, white with black interior. Besides a 91 Volvo 240 I’ve pretty much been a Ford owner. My first Japanese car, and first Mazda.
Always had Mazda in the back of my mind, since the 93 RX-7, and first saw a Protégé. Never actually opted for one for some strange reason, soooo when my Fiesta got totaled, decided to finally give it a go, and here I am! First impressions are for one thing, the low end torque on this car is definitely wonderful, can really feel it going up the mountain road. Two this thing has more bells as whistles than I’ve ever experienced in a car, even more than the BMW’s and Lincoln’s I’ve ridden In, plus feels just as nice, and the HUD is a definite nice touch. Rides nice, handles like on rails, has a nice purr from the exhaust.
there’s a few things to get used to the biggest being the radar cruise control. When I first used it a car pulled over in front of me, and well it did it’s thing and slowed way down. Tho to someone used to the old style of cruise control, and pretty much my first day in it, catches ya off guard, you think something is wrong at first. Hoping however the Mazda legacy of being pretty solid, and problem free after hundreds of thousands of miles like I saw many 80’s and 90’s Mazdas doing when I lived in the Midwest, holds true for their new ones.
This car def looks sharp, and feels much higher than it’s price tag. Tho the coolant does weird me out. It’s a very dark blue or green. I’m used to bright orange, or in the case of 90’s cars bright green.
