Mazda windscreen quality?
Hi, a new member here!
My family has a 10 year old Ford Mondeo which still has the original windscreen and windows intact. About a year ago we bought a brand new 2008 Mazda 6 hatchback. It seems that the small stones that hit the windscreen make a much louder sound than on our Ford and other cars that we've driven. The first windscreen had several small defects within the first year and finally went to such a bad condition that we had it replaced with a new Mazda branded windscreen about a month ago. Now a couple of days ago a couple of small stones from another car hit it again and while the first one seemed to cause no harm (but made a loud sound again), the second one managed to take off a small chip and caused a 1,5 cm fracture again.
What on earth is it with the Mazda glass? Is it thinner than on brands like Ford?
Thanks,
emr
