Default ive just bought a mazda 6 with problems 2.0 petrol

hi there, ive just bought a mazda 6 2.0 lf engine 16v dohc,
ive been scratching my head looking for the breather pipe issue and have sprayed around carb cleaner on the pipes but no change.

ok now the problem is the cars fine for 5 mins from cold start, gets warmer and slower and eventually cut off and will be hard to start.
ive looked at the trouble code its coming up with p0171 and nothing else. ps guide me. i have a feeling its the maf sensor.

Which year is it, how many miles are on it?
Did you take out the plugs to have a look at them?
P0171 is a lean code. Either too much air or too little fluid. You were looking for a vacuum leak with out success. Maybe you could get a fuel pressure reading? Or you may put a new fuel filter in?
Go to the Mazda Protégé forum and read the unofficial user's guide. It has many pointers that apply to your model as well.
