Default Fan Blower Ticking

Since the weather has been getting cold out, I have had no problems using my heat to warm up my vehicle up until this point. All of a sudden, yesterday my fan started to make a very annoying ticking sound that was pretty noticeable. The higher i would turn up the fan, the faster paced it would go. It sounds like it is coming from the dashboard area of the passenger side. I thought that maybe this would be a problem that may fix itself and was just a once-in-a-lifetime thing. But that is not the case. I tried it again and the fan blower does not hesitate to start ticking again when the heat is applied. I'm pretty sure something of this nature is covered under warrantee so I guess I'll find out. It's kind of annoying when trying to listen to music and this ticking noise is louder than your music at points. Anyone know what caused this to happen? Something come off track?

Maybe something is caught in it like a leaf or a ciggarette wrapper?

I just finished checking it out. I started up my car and the noise persisted for about 3 minutes and then the noise started to bog down. I had my heat running full blast the entire time. The noise is not entirely gone and i'm sure that i am doomed to hear it again soon enough. How would i go about checking to see if something is caught in the fan?

I have an 05 M6 that I just looked at that makes a kind on knocking noise from the center dash area. I can actually feel the knock if I put my hand on the center of the dash area. Fan on 2,3,or 4 and mode control on floor. Noise starts to go away if mode control moves to right or left of center. Noise is definitely from the defrost door. I pulled the glove box and can eliminate noise by applying some upward pressure on the defrost mode door. Called tech to see if there was something that was a problem and they have several instances of this happening. I think that there is some air leakage occuring past the mode doors that is causing the defrost door to start to vibrate. The fix from tech was to replace the entire heater box assembly because none of the other repairs had found any faults noted in the doors. Bit of help here from you all. When the noise is happening, is the vent on floor mode and is there still a bit of air felt from the defrost ducts? I think there is a fault in the sealing system that is causing the problem but any input you all have will help me to figure this one out as well.

I have the mode set to the floor and the person at the same time. i havent tried to see if it makes the same sound when the defrost is on by itself. i'll have to check that out when i get a little more free time. I'm busy getting a heating system installed in my garage. that will be nice to work on my car in the winter time.

My daughters 2008 Mazda 2sport has tonight developed a clicking sound which it turns out is the electronic boot (trunk) release. So when you turn on the heater fan the boot opens. Any ideas? Could it be a relay fault or a short circuit / earth fault?
