Cooling fan running
I have a 2007 Mazda 6. Recently my cooling fan has begun to keep running for about 1 minute after I shut the car off and remove the key. There are no warning lights or indicators on, car is not running hot and is running fine. Any suggestions on what the problem is would be appriciated.
I don't think you need to worry. Modern cars are set up to do that. In order to save gas the total amount of coolant has been reduced for quicker warm up, the airflow to the radiator has been reduced to lower the wind resistance. That necessitates that the fan blows after stopping the engine.
Of course it is a good habit to look at the temperature gauge, and after 5 years it would be advisable to flush the cooling system. But the fan blowing is not a cause for worry.
