18" tire wear on inside
Hello All-
Sorry if this is a repeat post, but I searched and could not find an answer. I have a 6 cylinder 06 Grand Sport. A friend of mine has a 6 cylinder 06 Grand Touring. We both have the same 18" rims and Pirelli P Zero Nero tires. we both have the EXACT same issue. All four tires are worn out on the inside. We both have under 20K miles. We have both brought them in, the dealer said the alignment is fine and could not figure out what this issue is. I have looked at other 6's with the 17" rims and they seem to look fine.
So I have a few questions. First, does the Grand Sport/Touring have a different suspension than say an i sport? Other than the rims and tires, I don't know if there is anything else it could be, rims, tires, both?
The dealer has looked at my car 3 times, even to a point where they straightened one rim because it was supposedly bent. All 4 tires continue to get worse. At this point I was told to file a case with Mazda. If they are anything like any other car company's customer service, I am sure to get nowhere. Even if they replace the tires, I am still going to have the same issue.
Thanks for any input!

RE: 18" tire wear on inside
P Zero Neros aren't known for their longevity. Mazda's do typically wear on the inside edge due to the negative camber set up in the suspension (that negative camber is one of the things that makes these cars handle so well.) Rotate your tires regularly. The 17" tires are a harder tire compound and will last longer.

RE: 18" tire wear on inside
Thanks, but when I say they are wearing, Imean they are BALD on the inside. As far as it being a characteristic, I hada 3 before this with 60K, it handled alot better than this 6 and I never had this issue. If these cars wear tires on the inside as a rule, it shouldn't make a difference what the tire size or brand is. And the car has been aligned, as I said the dealer has looked at it 3 times.
