Mazda quality control problem?
Had to pony up $280.43 to replace the purge solenoid valve on my 2007 Mazda 5 with 34,000 miles. Mazda Bulletin #01-003/09 states, "the purge solenoid valve manufacturing process has been changed to eliminate this concern." This defective part was installed on nine different Mazda models, from 2003 to 2008, depending on the model. Mazda has a quality control problem and the car buyer's have to make it all better?
It's an 07 model and now it is 2012. Maybe Mazda was planning with the Mayan calendar in their hands?
I once saw a report on car quality and they showed a Mercedes Benz engineer. He said: "We don't control quality, we build quality!" That phrase always pops in my mind when I see a reference to quality control.
