Default Buying a Mazda 5

Hi,

Thinking of buying a Mazda 5 and keep reading an upgraded version was produced from 2008 onwards to (supposedly) sort out issues such as the tyre wear. Though it made sense to buy one made after the change took place.

Anyone know the date, the upgraded models were manufactured from in 2008 onwards?
Other than finding out the date the car was made, is there any obvious visual differences for the post 2008 cars?

Apologies if this info is posted somewhere else, could anyone point me in the right direction if so.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Dave - can't really answer your question as to when the issue was supposedly sorted out.... other than I had an 09 plate and lost count of how many times I had to have tyres changed. I can't complain as it was company car so didn't cost me - just always was a concern in the back of my mind when I had the kids in car especially if it had been some time since last service / tyre check.

Just a note on the tyre check - most Tyre Garages only check the legal depth of the tread on the surface of the wheel - on at least four occasions they passed my car only for a week or two later during a service for me to be banned driving the car due to state of tyres inside edge. Everytime I complained to Tyre Garage and they apologised but just seems it is something that isn't checked.
