Skyactiv - AFS OFF unable to turn back on
Hi all,
The other day I took out the throttle body to give it a clean. After plug back everything I turn on the engine but was given a check engine light. I took a look at the assembly and everything was fixed back correctly. So I disconnected the negative terminal to reset it a bit. Plugged in and started engine with no check engine light. But the AFS off stayed on.
I took it to mazda service ctr but they are unable to reset the thing. They said probably the lighting system got shorted somewhere and they are unable to determine.
can somebody help? What can I do to fix this on my own? It should be minor fix unless I really shorted something when fixing back the battery negative terminal...

Mazda should of hooked up their scan tool & found a fault code for the AFS.
Without knowing the fault code, you're stabbing in the dark.
Try disconnecting the battery overnite, reconnect it & try your luck.
