My 2003 Tribute's passenger door will not unlock. When I use the remote to unlock I can see the manual lock by the handle moving. I can also hear the lock operating inside the door but neither door handle will open the door. The outside door handles normally make a distinct clink when the doors are locked but not when they are unlocked. Even though I can hear the door lock "unlocking" the handle still makes that noise. My main problem is that I cannot get the door open to replace the lock. The door screws and bolts are all within the door jamb. Has anyone else run into this problem and possibly a fix?

did anyone find a way of opening these doors? bad design in my eyes. handles arent working and door is shut. just want to wrap a chain around door and yank it off. lol
