Oooh yeah. that and the "you're not spending more money on that car, are you" question. Like I've really spent all that much on it in the first place.

 

I like to put the words "only" and "2 or 3 thousand" in the same sentence just to see that little vein on hertemple pop.

I love how they think cars stand a chance at being an inexpensive hobby.

I've got over $4200 worth of shocks/bumpstops on my offroad project truck....that was a tough sell.....Yes honey....shocks do cost $600 each and they can only be hand made.

 

Well, they used to be a lot cheaper and easier, and modding them w/parts from other vehicles was easier then too.
Junkyards used to keep cars until they literally rusted into the ground. I learned about the straight 8 flatheads from an oldPontiac I once found in the boneyard.
And the Jaguar 120 straight 6too. That polished aluminum valve cover w/two camshafts beneath it was hard to miss, and it certainly caught my attention.
I was still on "Stovebolt 6's" and small block Chevys and when all this stuff found it's way into my brain. I haven't been the same since. [8D][8D][8D]

 

And to think, the first vehicle I lowered to make it handle better was a Peterbuilt Like this one

Siber...That a 379?

My friends and I have quite a few vehicles to haul to the dunes and we've been thinking of building a custom 379 Long hood. Stretch the frame, drop the bumper....wicked.

 

That and the one I dropped was a 359.
The Reason for wanting better handling, start in the upper right corner and go to the lower left, I used to run that road 8 to 20 times a day


And I raced on it at night, private road closed to through traffic and I had a key to the locked gates.
