Keyless Trunk Release
Hi everyone,
Yesterday put some money down to buy a 2008 Mazda 3 (4 door) Sport...YEAH!!! ...I have not received the car yet, since the 2008 will arrive in a couple of weeks (In Mexico).
Well, let me get to the point. The keyless remote control does not open the trunk (that is what the salesman told me). So I was wondering what options do I have to open the trunk with the remote insted of the key without loosing themanufacutrers garantee?
I hope I can get the followinga original mazda remote flip key incliding the trunk button.
I have seen some ketyess entry systems but they come with cheap plastics and ugly looks and if I buy one of those systems I would have one key (mazda) and the aftermarket remote in my key chain, which is not cool at all.
Thanks!

Congrats on your near-purchase!
I don't know much about the Mexican versions but I'll chime in with what I do know.
First off no models so far (up to 2007) have a remote based trunk release. Second if you go with the flip key then (assuming nothing changes in the next model) you'll most likely need to replace the KEU with that of a Canadian model. Again this is how it is in the US for '07s and I don't know about Mexico. See THIS thread for details on flip key stuff. Third if you do get the flip key with the trunk button then there's no way to program that button to open anything as there are no extra outputs on the remote computer in the 3.
Several people on mazda3forums have added a trunk popper for their 3's and wired it up so that pushing unlock once unlocks all the doors (instead of just the driver's door) and pushing twice opens the trunk. I can't find that thread right now but it's somewhere.

Thanks for the reply....
I found a website here in Mexico that installs the system I'm looking using the Mazda Original key. I'm sorry because it's in spanish, the good thing is know you have a reason for a roadtrip to Puerto Vallarta or Acapulco.

I have to see this system working in another model before I decide to buy it.
