I have a 2005 3 with about 35K miles on it. The engine sputters sometimes even to the point of stalling completely. It will be at idle and then dip low in the revs a few times then stall. This doesn't happen all of the time...but about once every couple of months it will begin sputtering and stalling (sometimes it takes more than one try to start it up again).[:@]

Has anyone had any problems with this? any solutions or anything would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like some kind of vacuum/air leak to me. Check your air filter to make sure it's clean and that the airbox/tube aren't damaged in any way.

Does it trip any codes?

 

If you're under 36k get it to the dealer under warranty. Do you have anything to lose?

 

whatta about the fuel filter?
