I have a 2013 Mazda 3 hatchback. Recently, my son was driving it and the engine wouldn't shut off. The key fob opens and locks the doors fine, and we have changed the battery in the fob, but it won't turn on the ignition- even to ACC.

Any ideas about what the problem may be?

 

Both faults lead towards a faulty ignition barrel.
