Water Pump on '94 Protege DX
Getting ready to replace the water pump on my sister's 94 Protege, 1.8L DOHC automatic.
It's doesn't look very difficult, but wondering if anyone has any little issues/tips and tricks to watch out for? The car has only about !00k miles on it, but thought I would change the timing belt while i'm in there -- looks like I might have to remove it to get at the WP, but I've seen others online that have just moved it out of the way to get at the pump mount bolts.
What a fun way to spend a Saturday!

As far as I know it is a straight forward job.
If you change the timing belt and then it miss fires, then you are off by one tooth on one of the cogs. (Most likely the intake camshaft would be advanced by one tooth.)
Actually it can be fun. I get a sense of pride when everything works after a day of wrenching.
Have fun!
