Default Random misfire cylider 4

I have a misfire number #4 . I had already changed both coil packs , my thinking is plug or plug wire. question can I use timming light to check ,if it lights firing if not .not firing? . I had problems with fuel injectors in past and changed 2 of the 4 cylinders injectors for flooding cylinders

Swap coils around and see if the code moves with it. A timing light will not work.

both coil packs are new. each pack feeds 2 cylinders. how can you test for fire without going to a scanner?

A test light. The coil has 12 volts with the key on. The PCM grounds it to fire so a test light connected to the positive side of your battery and probing the ground circuit of the coil will flash. Did you replace the plug wires? A bad injector is uncommon. A dirty injector with a bad spray pattern is common as dirt. A bottle of Techron in the gas tank will quickly cure the latter.

Number one is the front of the engine. Number 4 is the back of the engine. 1-2-3-4

The front of the engine is where the belts are.
