Thanks. I love Scotty!

I did the repair work, then disconnected the battery to reset the computer and clear the codes. I don't believe I let it idle, should I reset again?

I actually got the air filter in there without any mods, took a lot of pressure on the top of the box to get everything to seal up. There is a slight snag in the rubber seal of the filter sticking out of the box, but it's so tight and small that I don't think it'll be an issue.

Thanks for all of your help. I'll try cleaning the MAF next.

Do you know what sensor is on top of the air intake hose between the MAF and throttle body? It has a metal braket that slides right into the air hose. Mine was pretty rusty and I'm wondering what it does.

Not familiar with Protege set-up.

Disconnect battery before doing work, do the work, then re-connect battery and let it idle.

Do this when cleaning MAF.

i think one is the is the solenoid that sends the vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator. mounted on a bracked that slides in a slot the hose has.
