Mazda cx9 lift gate problem
My Mazda cx9 2010 lift gate just open half way than stop after beeping 3 times , I can open it up manually after that , and when I try to push the button to close it beeping 3 times and don't close so I should close it manually any advice

 

I have seen this issue on a different car but will offer the solution to you just in case its caused by the same thing. The other car was about five years old and when you pressed the button to open the tailgate, it would open part way, then stop and studder a bit before trying to close itself but it would never actually fully close. It turned out to be the electric motorized strut had partially failed. We manually disconnected the strut from the tailgate and manually lifted and lowered the tailgate just to be sure there wasn't anything wrong with it and it worked fine when doing it with our hands (dang its heavy).

Then we left the strut disconnected from the tailgate and pressed the button to auto raise it and it did the same thing as when it was connected to the tailgate, which is how we knew it was failing. Drove over to the dealer, bought a new one, installed it ourselves in 30 minutes and all was well again.

 

Seen the auto opener motor fail a few times on older cx-9s.
