My 2007 CX7 has the check engine light on with a diagnostic error P0016, crank/camshaft position sensor error. Losing oil and smell it’s burning oil. Can’t find any oil leaks. Oil changes done every 4 months. Replaced Camshaft position error, still P0016. Is this car worth $$$ to address the timing chain? It’s at 190km.

I don't have that code for a CX-7, but for other Mazda engines it relates to a correlation issue between the Camshaft Position sensor and the Crank Position Sensor.

This could be a faulty sensor( either cam or crank), wiring fault, faulty PCM/ECU, incorrect valve timing, or a stretched timing chain.

 

Just had another read of the workshop manual, and found P0016 for the facelift 2009 CX-7, it's the same as what I've already added.
