Hey Thank You for all the very informative information that has helped me a lot. I’m going to get some door molding and hope that makes it look more professional. Again Thanks everyone!
The instalation is not incorrect nor is it technically unfinished. I would simply install edging and you will be good to go.
You could ask whoever installed it to give you some edging but for inexpensive as it is and 100% DIY friendly to install you have to balance is it worth the trouble to ask the installer or just do it.
Custom fitting installation of anything that is not a factory install has varying degree of how they are done.
This edging comes in many types and even colors. I keep several rolls on hand in my garage for various [project not all auto related. But here is one use I often do with my cars. Thos edges that always seem to find there way to scratch or slice forearms when working under the hood.
If you look at the picture[color=#2980b9] Lobstah posted of his hitch you can see this exact edging used on his custom hitch installation
hey, can you refer me to a website where I can get that molding?
I own 2021 CX5 and did some research regarding a towing hitch. Mazda OEM hitch requires a cut but there are aftermarket hitches that do not. Having said that with aftermarket hitch installed it will be a little lower.

This is a judgement call which hitch to use. Most do't consider the intended load and also properly setting the hitch ball trailer angle. So really there is no perfect hitch, and the installer should ask the customer detailed questions about the intended use.
