It makes logical sense that a new model will have teething issues. I am not going to do any research to prove it, but it has happened to me with a 2004 VW Touareg and 2007 Audi Q7 - both of which had numerous issues which were not seen in later years. This isn't to say something won't happen later in a cars lifespan either (such as the oil consumption issues in 21 Mazda 2.5T motors). In any event, it only has to matter to me to make these decisions. When I look at the Kia Telluride Forums, I notice many more issues with the 20-22 cars than the newer ones (and not because they are older, the threads are as old as 2020). It only makes sense issues will pop up at the beginning of production and small adjustments are made over time to correct them. This is quite normal with something as complex as an automobile.
As I stated many basic owners of Mazda's that are members on forum are always an exception to the NORM... LOL

Many new models are simple design changes and nothing more than that.
The only new models I would be hesitant to purchase are those with a new never before mass produced engine/motor/transmission and/or ECU that have only seen manufacturer testing.
Example: the 2019 Nissan 1.5 and 2.0-liter variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo). Not so much the engine but the bearings.

Well, this is a great thread... we will know which members will not be posting in threads about the 2026 Model Mazda's because they won't be buying or working on them and therefore no experience for any input.
I'll probably be dust in the wind before that happens.
