GPS fault
Looks like I posted in a wrong section so one more time.
2023 CX5 Azure. The gps announces speed cameras in places where there are no cameras, and never will be, Dealer turned it off after numerous attempts to reprogram. All other cars on the lot do the same thing. Mazda 180004411 hung up three times this morning and email via website rejected a complaint form. Obviously Mazda Australia couldn’t care two hoots about their customers. Surely if a dealer has sent in reports that some techead would look at the problem and write a fix for it.
The more complaints they get the more chance of getting it fixed. If all the 2023 cars on the lot at my dealer have this error surely there are other cars in Oz that have the same problem! Anyone else?

I don’t care who wrote the program it is in a brand new Mazda threrefore it is a Mazda problem to fix. The 2023 map creator must have contact with Mazda! Turning the sound off also turns the warning visual off. Not what I paid for therefore not fit for purpose!
The Mazda warranty, like every other manufacturer is for defects in materials and workmanship.
Of which GPS mapping software issues are not one of them, Mazda supplies three years of updates, but they don't write the map programs.
The same applies to tires on a new vehicle; if you have a problem with them you take it up with the tire manufacturer, not Mazda.
Mazda is likely working with the mapping software company, but only that company can resolve the issue.
Why isn’t the mapping system part of Mazda warranty. The dealer has done three updates which didn’t change anything. It is not aftermarket it is built in to the car supplied by Mazda. About time that Mazda did work with the mapping company.
As to being a fool to trust the gps then why put then in!
Drove BMW, Tesla EVs last weekend and they have all the bells and whistles in them. Their dashboards would be fairly basic without them and I doubt they could be driven on the road without those gadgets. It is not foolish to expect them to work correctly.

You buy a Mazda car with a warranty. Mazda cannot (and will not) pass on warranty claims to their navigation or tire suppliers. A car consists of hundreds of parts from suppliers. It would be strange if you had to approach all these suppliers separately for warranty claims.
As for the navigation errors: there are no navigation maps of any brand without errors. You have to live with it and hope that the errors will be corrected by the next map update.

Thanks for that but surely if everyone complains to Mazda about a navigation problem then Mazda would put pressure on the supplier to correct the problem. If air bags, supplied by say tanaka, were faulty would Mazda wait until they recalled them? Not third world problem but very annoying with little interest from Mazda Australia.

While some manufacturers issued do not drive notices, the air bags were not recalled until Takata was found at fault.
It was then up to Takata to make good on the recall and the vehicle manufacturers instituted the replacements free of charge.
