Question Power Liftgate Totally Dead

None of the switches work, nor does the button on remote. No beeping or clicking either. And, yes, I've tried to hold each of them for several seconds.

I've had the 2017 CX-5 GT for only two months. Certified, with under 5,000 miles on the clock, it used to work fine. Came out of the Shop Rite with a full cart of groceries (of course!) only to discover the liftgate no longer worked.

Several days previous I carelessly had left the ignition on overnight (wondering why the car beeped several times as I walked away), which of course killed the battery. Jump-started the car and re-charged the battery. Everything else seems to work fine. Checked fuse #16 (20A), first visually and then with a multimeter, and that's good. I've opened the hatch with the emergency release, opened it all the way, and tried the buttons again. Nothing. I was relieved to find out that at least the hatch can be closed and latched manually, even while the electric closing mechanism is not working.

PLEASE, someone tell me how to reset the system, and let me avoid a trip to the dealership! THANKS in advance! - Pete

Apparently the CX-5 does not have a valet off switch, as do other cars.

I know this is a very old thread but I was wondering if you ever had any solution as I'm having a similar issue with a 2017 CX-9.
