Painful Seat - Seat Hurts
#31
Not easy
Not easy, as seats are memory seats plus heated and cooled etc. They are the worst seats i have ever had. The seat cannot be raised high enough, so i cannot see most of the gauges.Rear seats cannot be folded down, unless i push the front seats forward which makes it impossible to drive comfortably. The electronics and safety equipment is totally out of date and at best useless in an accident. It is very poorly designed compared to Toyota. .

Not at all
1 month into a new MY21 Dec build CX5 top range Akera with the Nappa Leather seats.
It's painful literally to drive and after due to the seat width and the side bolsters position & hardness. It's crushed my Sciatic Nerve in my right leg. Had to go see my physio for treatment today. I'm 45 and had Zero Sciatic problems in my life.
It really annoys me about the seats, because the rest of the car is the absolute best! But 1 month in I will now need to find an Upholsterer to adjust, or I will have to consider selling. Not something I want to do after waiting 5 months to drive after ordering.

Same question - is yours 2021 or 2022 model? If 2022, did you have a chance to compare with earlier years regarding the seats? Would like to know if Mazda's claims of improving the seats for 2022 are in fact true.

Pain in the butt
[QUOTE=Mazdajim18;178003]My wife is driving a 2019 CX-5 GT and has found that despite the many seat adjustments available with the power seats, that the seat cushion causes pain in her tail bone. She has ended up using a memory foam cushion in the seat which defeats the heating and ventilation options. The dealer response is that all of the seats are the same which she confirmed with a tush test. Has anyone figured out a soution other than custom upholster or buying a different car?
Thanks.[/QUOT
I have the same issue the last year especially with my CX5 which is coming up to 5 years old. Fortunately when I drive with my wife in the car we switch driving on longer trips, sometimes every hour. I have gotten used to using cruise control on the highway, meaning constantly adjusting the speed buttons on the steering wheel, hence giving my right leg a rest. Many might find driving like this perhaps a bit risky but if you do it more you can actually get quite good with speed adjustments. I still can’t wait until the trips are over and are reconsidering doing long driving trips with this car. I’ll probably switch to a different make soon anyway since there are also too many of them, especially the navy blue ones! Also a few smaller things we don’t like but generally a great car.

CX 5 hard seats
My cx-5 also has Hard seats. It is a 2022 Signature model with leather seats. I hate them. They are rock hard and I have to use a cusion. What use is that with heated and ventilated seats. No more Mazda for me.

The answer is simple. Something we have done to several of our cars we loved but had seats that were not ideal. We took the car to a good auto upholstery shop, told them the problem and had them add/change the seat foam to a memory foam. We now are able to fully enjoy the cars. It cost us about $500/seat, much cheaper than replacing the cars.

Ok well golley weepers.... cry me a river.... You test drove the Mazda before you purchased it. You should have felt and known during the test drive if not sitting in the seat at the dealership what the seat felt like. Now you post a" waaaaah my seat is to hard " niffle niffle... "no more Mazda for me" response.
