There comes a time in every old man's life when a little or a lot of crow is part of ones diet. I have just now won the dumb schmuck award.
I guess I don't use the hatch a lot...there are TWO, count 'em, TWO buttons
. One for locking, the round one toward the right, and one for opening, the one 7 inches to the left above the license plate. I forgot all about that one. [well shiver me timbers]
It took a trip to the dealer and 10 seconds to be informed. All is now fine in Mazda land. Thanks for all your tips - I'm sure somewhere along the line someone gave me the solution that I promptly ignored.
