These kits are NOT all the same. The gas struts in most kits are low quality and will fail when you least expect it. But good news you can easily replace them with high quality struts. Also many of the bargain kits found on ebay and amazon come with standard fasteners that have little or no coating to prevent rust or corrosion. You may also need to replace them at some point depending on where you live?

Lift Support Depot and *Strong Arm are two very good quality manufactures of strut supports . There is universal sizing chart to get the correct size part number.
Fasteners like nuts bolts washers etc. If needed not all kits require anything except the ball and clip which is what it is. Most upgraded nots and bolts if needed you can get at your local Lowes or Home depot look for stainless steel. (yes I know they are not hospital grade SS).

The kit shows the ***** for the bottom that screw in, but it looks like the fasteners for the bottom come on that little tool they include. Not sure about the quality of those. The ***** for the top thing are shown already attached to the mounting bracket I suspect they'd be removable. (I'd actually be tempted, if possible to use something with an eyelet hole but that may not really be doable.)

I think you will be ok? These are simple to install and if a strut goes bad , replace them at that time with good quality units .
You will know when one start to go the day you open the hood and it slowy closes down while you are working on your engine. LOL
A few of us have had that happen and in the old day when some of us were poor we just carried a broom stick cut to the right length. LOL

Many manufactures and their distributors have not yet updated application charts and web-sites. Contact the distributors or manufactures directly with the application assistance.

Someone in another thread that I was reading said the insides haven't changed from previous years on this generation CX5 so they'll fit the 2021. I figured I'd go ahead and get it. I got it through Amazon so if it doesn't look like it's going to fit I can return it.
