When posting a thread with a service question it helps, and this thread is an example to get continuing answers and suggestions to post the year and trim level of your Mazda CX-5
Curious about your find but not totally uncommon and usually this means that your Mazda has been parked for periods of a few days , at least when you update your Mazda info u more will see if what you were told was correct?

I guess if you buy their oil to do it, they would love it.
Wrong again dude...
First as far as I am aware no aftermarket cabin filter has any specific service suggestion other than consult your owner's manual. But hey I didn't look at the dozen of brands available? K7N does not stipulate any service recommendation for cabin filters that I am aware of? Something tells me you already knew that.
I am seriously bewildered after this long that you question anything I post regarding a better service recommendation. It saves untold thousands of dollars $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to members reading them and taking my reconditions, helps to better get some auto manufacture warranty coverage, and all around prevents service problems and issues.

Where the funny thing you are not even looking at the information I posted about the cabin filter......nor did you go look at the pictures at least let alone reading the threads they were on.
1) NO oil needed. now that is funny or more ROLMAO you mentioned this threads subject for a cabin filter
2) you do not need their specific cleaning liquid... go see what I use much cheaper and kills germs and bacteria
3) more cost effect over time because it is one time filter purchase.
4) service sooner than recommended on any platform is always better and the cabin filter replacement with a K7N will NOT in any way VOID and warranty coverage of the HVAC SYSTEM
5) more frequent cabin filter changes or clean a K7N filter will also reduce the other recommended HVAC system service cleaning (also included on the post number provided about cabin filter). Which is also something I recommend that owner DIY at least before the start of every summer months when the use of AC is the highest.
6) cleaning more frequently of the cabin filter will prolong the life and reduce most commonly caused issue of a blower motor leading them failing and needing to be replaced.

Here is a thread I post in balance of information posted but this time your responses should not be considered or used by members reading this thread.

I mean sure dude, whatever you think. Lol. Just reasoning through it. You are back to your typical cantankerous answers again. There is not one single service protocol for everyone. While your schedule obviously works for you, that doesn't mean it's the gospel for everyone.

This is one of the least expensive service related, problem prevention parts anyone can buy, and many can change themselves generally with NO TOOLS NEEDED.... a Cabin Filter!
Lets be clear it is not what I think but have shown by a little researching empirically found and documented information can be proven as fact.
Here is the thing... I work 5 days a week 9 hours a day running a shop servicing dozens of vehicles weekly. So who has better recommendations you or someone like me?
You have not learned by know that the number of threads on this forum I actually participate in is 1 in about 5 as far as recommendation and service-related information. The main reason is there are very knowledgeable and experience member, and not all are mechanic that actually post great service related advise, help and recommendations. You of all members see this every day because I am sure you look at who is online and who is looking at what threads. At least I do because it helps me determine what threads I might want to read. Why you choose to want to play games with me on anything service related I really think you just enjoy it somewhat. that's fine but you have not learned when to stop!
You would be hard pressed to find any service shop or dealership to dispute any aspect of my responses on this thread.

I also know and any member can look at this information as well that you are usually up on making sure that your Mazda get the best service either you can do or to have them done so as not to have any issues es[pcially with something so simple as changing a cabin filter....

I will be back with the ODO between the cleaning in miles and date

Because I did not have time yesterday to show the complete cleaning process. I made my coffee and spent a whopping 10 minutes to clean it.
Its also my first basic service fo the new year on my Mazda .
K&N uses medical grade material so for years I have used isopropyl alcohol to clean all my K&N cabin filters.

To each his own.
Without actual airflow testing of the filter, you have no idea what the airflow is and/or much dirt is trapped in it.
Air pollutant levels are low here most are caused by road/salt sanding, road construction and spring pollen.
I check my dry cabin filter a couple times a year and replace it once a year at a cost of $12.97.
Order it online, it is delivered to my door and takes me about 3 minutes to change, and it can be done with the glovebox in place.
Excluding the mouse event, of which every one of my vehicles has been targeted, I've never visually seen any noticeable dirt/debris.
I would point out isopropyl alcohol is a hazardous material and is illegal to dump down any drain including storm and sewer but I'm sure Callisto knows that
