I own a 2006 3s Touring. I just started hearing a ticking noise from the climate control fan. Noise is only noticable when fan is set to position 1 or 2. If I turn the fan off I can here the ticking slow as the fan slows to off.

I've read elsewhere that this might mean the cabin air filter needs to be changed. Is this so? Is this something I can change myself easily.

 

I brought it in and had filter changed. this seems to have fixed it.
