The above bolded section is incorrect. Transmission fluid is NOT pumped through this system, it's coolant from the radiator that gets pumped through. If it was trans fluid adding a trans cooler would be MUCH easier.
Adding a transmission cooler to MAZDA Skyactiv 2.5 is very, very and very easier than the old cooler in radiator or at least simpler in the installation.
Here are the basic parts I have machined or acquired for the project. I may still make some more changes as I get closer to the actual installation. I have not yet finalized exactly how I will be controlling the fan yet either nor have I started the relay and switch harness for it. I did swap out the original intended cooler for this one in the picture. The Transmission inline filter adapter can be used with many brands and type of spin on filters.
All parts are only lightly placed for the pictures. There respective type and location may change during the installation. The hose in the picture is not high Pressure hose and will be changed out for High Pressure hose for the installation

Yes, that is one I made. Basically, copied the outline of a Transmission Service Adapter and machine my own using mush larger AN fittings and NO O-rings. The service adapter used O-rings and the fitting were to small IMHO to carry a large volume of fluid quickly in and out. (See AN flow chart). You can get the adapter and use it as it is and then easily install a transmission cooler. I choose cooler with fans and also an added adapter for a spin on oil filter for easier and more frequent transmission service. The fan/cooler option allows for many more spaces to mount a cooler because it does not need direct air flow to be effective. The installation even for a DIY and simple garage tools for everything is about 3 hours? This will at least keep your transmission temperature well withing the safe limits between normal operation of 180F-210F and towing between 220F- 245F.
You should not need a thermostat valve but at any time could easily install one. You don't live in Alaska so I wouldn't worry?
For my MAZDA at some point I will also be installing a large capacity oil pan.

If you had not responded I doubt anyone would have even cared really what you said or my response now you have posted again, and again you are getting the information inaccurate! Thier is a difference between when I said what someone could do and accomplish on a project and what I do!
I would guess for a DIY the installation of a simple aftermarket universal cooler kit , 3-4 hours with what most have for tools in their garages?
