Got two of them at the Mazda dealer on Tuesday. BGV4-56-145 as Lobstah specified. Got home and put my car up on the ramp and pushed one in. And I have an extra. If I start breaking them (I haven't yet), I'll get one of the assortment kits you all mentioned.

I use screw type wall anchors to replace lost or damaged factory plastic fasteners. They come in a variety of sizes and I have never had one break or come loose. Any hardware type store.

Yes I saw that posted on other forums once.

Personally, I would not use or remend them for various reasons. The main one is the angle pitch of the screw and the componets its locking together.

Some things are just to MacGyver and don't work well like the TV show.

But I am sure they worked well for you?

So other understands my reference.

What does MacGyver mean?

MacGyver is a verb meaning "to make, form, or repair (something) with what is conveniently on hand."

For older members you may call it Jimmy rigged?

To fix something regardless of how it looks or how long it lasts. Using any materials that are available to you in a creative way to make something work

The term I knew was "jury rigged". So I looked up some stuff :
“jury rigged” was a sailing term that most likely originated near or before the 17th century. When a mast was damaged, due to a storm, battle, or wear-and-tear, it would need to be “jury-rigged” back into working condition. The alternative term “jerry rigged” found its footing in World War II.The new-age version of this reference would be “jimmy rigged.” This term, according to Urban Dictionary, is a cast off of “jury rigged” and denotes that the fixed-up contraption will most likely not work.

MacGyver the original show, ran from 1985-1991 and he always jury rigged (or jerry rigged or jimmy rigged) stuff to solve the situation he got himself into. I was not a fan of the show but my dad liked it.
