Default 2014 Nav problem

Hello Mazda folks,
I just purchased a used 2014 CX5 with 58,000 miles. The Nav system is not working. When I push the Navigation button I get a message "no maps found". There is a SD card in the slot. I bought a new SD card on Ebay, but I get the same message with that card also. Is this something a Mazda dealer can rectify easily and inexpensively? Or are there any other tricks to try.
I did do a search on this forum for this problem, but did not come up with anything.
Thanks for the help.
I am loving this car otherwise.

The SD card must be programmed by Mazda with your VIN embedded in the code. Off the shelf generics won't work. Additionally, it needs to be updated several times per year. After 3 years, it's subscription-based. Another money grab.
