When I tried to open the hood the release cable broke off. Now I can't open the hood.
Any suggestions on how to release the hood latch from outside car.

It is possible but difficult.
First check if there is a guard under the front bumper, if so remove it. then reach in from the place between the bumper and radiator up to the hood latch and see if you can feel where the cable is attached to the hood latch.. if you can then push/pull on it and it should release. If you cant feel it then you may need to remove the bolts mounting the latch to the body (usually 3 or 4 10 mm bolts) then the latch should move enough to give access.
