Default Stalls out when idling

I have a Mazda 3i 2.0 (manual trans) It has about 100,000m on it. This week i noticed as i sat at a red light the RPM's would dance around and sometimes drop far enough to stall the car. There are no other issues while the car is in motion. It is only when it is sitting still. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen. I changed out air filter last night, Im going to try dry gas and my dad is going to change out the plugs this weekend.

Also i was curious, what is common for RPMs while the car is idle. Looks like mine (when not bouncing around and the car is warm) sits at about 600. Is that to low? I am trying to learn all the basic "how to's" so i don't have to depend on my dad, husband or brothers to help. If any one has any suggestions i would appreciate it.
