Default CIA good and the bad

First of all i just want to say thank you for who replied at my last post.
now i just bought a new ms3 and love it but i wanted to install a CIA(cold air intake) from factory (mazdaspeed). i heard from friend's that water can get in you engine and gas mileage and some other stuff..... i just wanted to know what dose it do...what is the good and the bad part about CAI.

You will get better gains going with A CAI than a SRI. However, with a CAI, you stand a better chance of it sucking up water if it rains hard. AEM does offer a Bypass Valve than can be adapted to most intakes to solve this problem.
