its gonna work....

The only thing I might have done was to Camphor the hole on the head side to give added support and strength to the JB Weld.

The only thing I did was I took a small engraver and put a couple of divets inside the wall of each hole. Like this...

Probably won't help... the drawing or the divets. I was thinking it might prevent a jam and rotate of the JB when drilling.

i haven't drilled epoxy...

Opinion time! Would you drill it with the correct size or start with a small pilot hole? Risk spinning the JB more than once?

Also the centerpoint is in the epoxy.

I also found that sticking a toothpick into the epoxy filled hole and spinning it while pulling back out... seemed to get all the air out and fill the hole.

As it set up, I used a long razor to shave it flat. The outside edge was capped with paper tape. Peeled right off clean.

Father in law volunteered his (new to him) floor mount drill press. After I rig up some clamping mechanism, I may visit this machine. I am thinking about carving up some 2x4's to grab it.

For fun... A.I. generated 2026 Odd Rod Knockoff!

Lacking the style... but still cool.

Pilot hole. Always and watch your drill speed slow is better with JB weld. You won't make the curls when drilling metals. lol
JB Weld bubbles are cause from to aggressively mixing the 2 compounds just for future reference.
You learn how to JB Weld use tricks when you have to mix 1or more cup sized of it at a time for some projects

I have my eye on a couple of spots. 🧐

I started thinking about using shavings to make it thicker, then I realized that just creates thousands of joints. I did mix extra and toy with it as it set up.

Does it adhere in the putty state as good as the beginning of the flow-able liquid state? Caulk consistency. 🤔 Wait, you mentioned this...
Baking soda... no, no. 🤔 A supercharger turbulizer and...

Eaton 45 SuperCharger.

There is a little known area that can be filled with JB Weld and it takes about 2 cup to fill a cavity area cast open to reduce the whine. By filling in the casting the SuperCharger sound like an old school Pete Jackson gear drive on a Chevy small block. Gets lots of attention even driving it legally when you go through the gears. And when you shift at 6500 rpm you would think it was a Top Fuel Funny Car …..well almost. You get the description. lol

Nobody makes a reasonable throttle body spacer for this setup, oversized. About 25mm thick would give me enough space to do better.

Bulk Phenolic resin and Nylon 66 are are close to the same price. I would rather use nylon, not really into the formaldehyde, this year. 😉 Or... maybe... (hard to resist)... fighting it... Plywood. I can't pass up a call back joke. 🫣

Also, this little project is getting a lot of negative feedback on a different brand specific site. Which is usually parakeets repeating the opinions of others. 🤫 I don't believe them. 😉 It is a errand car, after all. Not very fast with eggs in the trunk. 😏

Some are asking for oem throttle body modifications in the same breath. 🧐 Not even kidding... 😒

I have always enjoyed the experience of the tallest seat height bikes and street cars with bad manners. 🤨 My Elky will not move from first gear without a dual tire bark. It does get a little gritty in the bible belt. 😄 "My foot slipped." PRNDL on the dash... 😉

Making a TB spacer is actually very easy and you can do it!

I can always find dip sheets on forums that really have no real world modding experience.. I get into debates and arguments with them all the time. look at this my home forum and the clowns posting on various threads.
