I see we like some of the same oils

On your free hand porting curious why you didn’t fill the stem area with JB Weld cut the valve guides back a little and machined the valve stem a bit slimmer. The porting looks good aside from that?

All excellent points... I may go that far with the next one. If I can get time to catch up with MeB2000.

But, are you serious about jb weld? I could see maybe mixed with aluminum shavings? Nevermind... I will pay the postage, what was your address, again? 😁

The Lucas stabilizer is one of my favorites. It is playing the role of assembly lube this time. I was debating on mixing in about 1/4 Oz of zinc. I like it for mixing the 5 weight oils a tad heavier.

The use of JBWeld in intake area has been used for years maybe decades in heads , superchargers and various other engine areas.
I used it in modified OEM superchargers to fill the muffler area to produce a loader whine noise.
The aluminum shavings mixed with it was also an idea and used by a few engine performance machinists but proved to do nothing of value .
I live in my car so now permanent address ROLMAO
I sold my performance engine machine shop some time ago. And porting any engine head is tedious work .

Sorry about the double posting . I am on my iPad and it has a mind of its own ….lol I actually deleted that first response about the head and even saw it gone. The second response is all I actually wanted to post.

No worries...
I mentioned shavings because of differing expansion rates? Overthinking most likely.

Forgot to wash the oil pan during daylight hours. 🤨

I have my own special assembly lube or oil concoction. RED Line grease and molybdenum disulfide powder, and or for other things molybdenum disulfide powder and pro blend .

I also forgot to mention using JBWeld indifferent areas of motorcycle engines mosty in the internal crank case and transmission area. The use of JB weld you should know has been used to repair broken sprocket areas of the case and other engine areas damaged by crashing since the 70’s that I remember.

I knew it... you work for 'em! 😆
Kidding...

I'm sure some did. Personally, I have only used it to repair cracked timing covers, or glue in a questionable stud or all thread (like damaged thermostat housings). When someone reams out a bolt hole.

In the intake scares me a little.

What about plastic? I have a Blazer intake manifold that would be great with a glass floor in it. 🤔

Splash zone?
Have to heat it a little for it to flow in good.
