it would be much better if re-drilled to this location.
even the coolant port is acceptable, still.

The head side matches the gasket. These gaskets haven't changed in over 25 years.

JB Weld is a Hot Rodder's friend
Nice work on the throttle shaft. Lock Tite blue!

If it were me I'd TIG weld all the mounting holes then drill to best suit the gasket alignment.

If I had a TIG welder and was confident, that would be the best option, for sure. I figure filling the holes will make them easier to drill again.
Otherwise the holes existing do not bother me. Heck, I have made extra holes in stuff for fun! 😁

Messed with the throttle plate for a while. Got a slight bevel on all sides now. Feels good between the finger tips and sounds much better in a compressed air stream.
Of course this type of thing is hard to photo. Because of the coating on the throttle plate you can see the silver rim. the edge photo was an attempt to show that I did not touch the outer edge, but did reduce the thickness by about half. This was a stamped part with sharp edges.
Other notes: My glasses have been missing for 5 years. Might need to start thinking about replacements. 😄

I have to locate my carbide bits to finish the housing. Maybe tomorrow... 🫩

A machine shop might be the best go for the manfold. Nice throttle plate.

😳😲🥺

But... I am Mechanically Minded!

People say I look smart with glasses. So I lost those real fast. I do not claim to be smart. I am observant and I ask the one question everyone HATES... Why (then) Not?
The answer is usually: Because... lazy... 🤐

I am thinking, I need a drill block, for a guide. Something I can clamp down and use to stop my bit from walking. 🤔
The aluminum and JB Weld, I assume will not drill evenly. (I never bought a drill press) 😁
I also am entertaining the idea of going to a machine shop and seeing what they say about it. 😉 Why? Lazy.

Glasses.......typically, when you get in your forties, you start needing them......if you've never needed glasses prior to that. I wear prescription glasses now (60's) but when working on small stuff, or working on tedious things, I will double stack a pair of 250x generic reading glasses on top of my prescription glasses. You will be AMAZED at how well you can see up close!!
Now.....if I could find a fix for the inherent old fart tremors.......

I drill both aluminum and other metals with JB Weld , but I also use a drill press and very low drill speeds and pressure.
I have also used JB Weld directly in wet and dry intake manifolds.
And even used JB Weld in the casting area of a Supercharger (secret) to make it louder. lol

You know there are still avalible those in expensive drill press drill holders that actually work very well .

You could file the holes to right location then fill and drill JB weld.
