Hi, my name is Scott & I own a 1997 Protege LX with 152,000 miles on it. I just bought the car in Febuary & it runs well, but I'm ready to make modifications to it. I've already changed the headlights to Cool Blues, but the next big steps are to add remote access and a sunroof. Eventually, I'll get a body kit for it, new rims and tires, suspension upgrades and a new audio/video system. In time, I'd like to get a 1.8 liter turbo for it, but I'm not sure it'll fit under the hood, since my current engine is a 1.5. Has anyone else encountered this? Also, why is it so tough to find aftermarket parts for the 1997 Prots?

The protege's have quite a bit of room under the hood when you remove all that stock intake crap. Get a MazdaspeedProtege engine for it!
