2001 Mazda Protege LX speaker recommendation
Greetings!
I recently came across a 2001 Mazda Protege with 80k miles and, while checking out the speakers and radio, it is in desperate need of an upgrade. I'll be driving it cross country but damned if I want to get stuck with just the regular radio. Now, out of all the speakers I have seen and head units, I am kind of stuck. Would I need an extra amp to run them? I ask because I will more than likely running about 500W through 4 different speakers but just about every head unit I see, tops out at about 350. I just want to upgrade the the speakers to something more current but won't break the bank. Kind of cheap looking at $450 budget. Another suggestion i go got was to just use those plug in Bluetooth adapters into the cigarette socket, but I'd still end up having to update the speakers though right? I'm a bit lost.
