Taking the engine out
Hi guys. My own Mazda 6 2009 3.7L, next week I'm taking it out to replace the water pump, I have all the tools ready. The shop manual I have is not clear at all, but... can I just take the engine out and UP or is there so little room that I have to take it out also with the transmision attached? Or do I need to drop it out through the bottom, with the transmision still attached I guess?
Ok, I was able to extract the engine through the top. I've labeled 40 connectors and brackets point so I'm going to be able to put it back into the car. I didn't need to take the front or radiator out of the vehicle, just straight up. In a few days I'll replace the water pump when I have the time.
