Is it possible to just deactivate the CD-player?
I think my CD-player is draining my battery for some unknown reason. It drains faster if a CD is inserted into the CD-tray, but it still drains without one. If I insert a CD and leave my car off for 3 minutes, the CD have played for 3 minutes when I start the car again.
So my question is, is it possible to disable the CD-tray only?

Keep in mind that I will NOT be using the radio. My plan is the remove the radio in order to install a new double din radio into it. And where do the panel buttons get their power from if I remove the radio?

That panel is from a Facelift ( 2005 - 2007 ) Mazda 6.
The whole panel, top to bottom is 1 big circuit board. You can't cut the centre out, or remove what looks like the stereo section.
