Is it possible to just deactivate the CD-player?
I think my CD-player is draining my battery for some unknown reason. It drains faster if a CD is inserted into the CD-tray, but it still drains without one. If I insert a CD and leave my car off for 3 minutes, the CD have played for 3 minutes when I start the car again.
So my question is, is it possible to disable the CD-tray only? http://forum.mazda6club.com/attachme...mlimg_7204.jpg |
If you pull the whole stereo out you can remove the CD player from the backside.

1 Attachment(s)
The actual CD unit attaches to the rear of the stereo unit/panel. Once unscrewed you won't see its missing. Just the CD slot will be a empty void.

Thanks.
Another question. Do you think it`s possible to swap my old panel out with this one? http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/PYAAAO...d9/s-l1600.jpg As you can see, the emergency button is placed to the left. |
No. That panel is for manual air conditioning, you have climate air conditioning, there are different panels to suit your car.

2005 MAZDA 6 RADIO CD PLAYER CLIMATE CONTROL PANEL GR4B66DSX CQ-MM45701A | eBay Keep in mind that I will NOT be using the radio. My plan is the remove the radio in order to install a new double din radio into it. And where do the panel buttons get their power from if I remove the radio? |
That panel is from a Facelift ( 2005 - 2007 ) Mazda 6.
The whole panel, top to bottom is 1 big circuit board. You can't cut the centre out, or remove what looks like the stereo section. |
