Default Non starting mazda

Hi all. I’ve been reading through the forum and it’s helped some with my issue but I thought I’d ask. I have an 09 Mazda 6s. Love love the car. In the last week this has happened twice where I went to start my car, it unlocks fine and all the jazz but when I go to push to start it’s like it stalls out and locks itself. The red key light illuminates and basically the car is dead and useless. Nothing will work. It won’t even lock or unlock. Last week after sitting approx 15 mins I came back out to my car and I heard it beep registering my fob and it started right up. Now yesterday (05/06/24) it started and drove fine in the morning. Sat all day and when I went to go to get my children from school it did the same thing!! This time my steering wheel lock light ALSO illuminated. This time it never came out of that state. That was around 2:30pm EST yesterday it happened and after reading though this forum I got it out of that state this morning. However when trying to start it did it again. I got it out of the state once more but HAVE NOT tried to start it again in fear of it locking again. After thoroughly reading my manual and this forum and other Mazda sites I’m convinced I am needing a new key fob completely as I replaced the battery last week when this happened. Help help help. I’m a mom of 2 one of which is special needs. I cannot be without my car.

This was yesterday may 6th

This was the first time last week
