Mods/turbo question for 6s
first off to clear the sensor thing up, we don't have a "boost sensor", we have a MAP sensor. this will tell you how much pressure is in the intake manifold. given this car is not meant for boost, i doubt this is more than a 1 BAR sensor, meaning it will never read above atmosphere (or 0 psi).
As with most cars with MAF sensors, you might be able to get away with low boost with just bigger injectors, IF the MAF sensor accounts correctly for the added air. this usually leads to rich off boost driving, but you'd have to have an A/F gauge to make sure thing were kosher anyhow. given the stock 6s runs so damn rich up top anyhow, there should be a bit of room, though i don't think i would try to boost with that cushion.
if anyone wants to boost right this second, it's not too hard. a custom single turbo setup is a no brainer for most shops, as it sits right where the Y comes together, then exits the normal exhaust route. piping can be plumbed bery easily up to the TB (running under 6psi, you should be able to get away without an IC to start). then find a Unichip dealer and they can tune you for it. it can be done, just no one has done it yet.

you said it yourself you say the sensor. i just don't know the specifics of it, never bothered, just know i get a CEL from it now, but i think i wired it wrong when i put the manifold back on.....i don't use it so i don't really car.
the MAF will do most of the tuning, as most know. but small adjustments might be made via signals from the MAP sensor i'd assume.

o......im sorry i misunderstood ur post, i thought u were saying we dont have them. i would think it would work hand and hand with the maf. i might have to get a mani made and run like 8psi and see what happens. i dont think they would add something like that for no reason. thats like adding a turbo to a car and leaving off the charge pipes.
all in all i think its a good start to finding out a way to boost these cars a lil' bit cheaper. i'ma do some extensive research on this matter and keep u posted

I know that Diablo has a performance chip out for the 2.3L Ford Ranger engines which has the same chip as the 6 engines. I called them up in Texas and they said they don't have one yet for the 6, but they are working on it because they just need to alter the Ranger chip to work with the 6's codes. All in time my friends.

the engine has NOTHING to do with the chip for the car. i don't care what car has the 2.3, the chip it uses will do nothing on the mazda. it's the ecu (CAN bus) that causes the issues. Diablo has "been looking" at a solution for the 6 since '03/'04 and i have seen posts saying "they are close" since '04.....it's a bunch of BS.
Until i see a solution working in a video, everyone is full of it except for Haltech
